European Travel Information and Authorisation System. ETIAS is not running yet, so there is no official application or fee for it today.
Official site

…and their subdomains only. The official site says ETIAS is currently not in operation and is not collecting applications. Any site taking ETIAS applications or money today is not official.

How to spot a copycat
Lookalike ETIAS addresses
Examples use the reserved .example names. They show patterns, not real sites, and each one is run through the checker above.
01
The scheme name plus extra words
Not official: etias-application-online.example
Anyone can register a name that contains “ETIAS”. Only addresses that end in travel-europe.europa.eu or europa.eu are official for ETIAS.
02
“gov” or “official” in the name
Not official: official-etias-gov.example
A word that sounds official is not a government ending. Read the end of the address, not the start.
03
The real address at the start
Not official: https://travel-europe.europa.eu.example.com/apply
Putting travel-europe.europa.eu in front of another domain doesn't make it official. The part right before the first single slash decides who owns the site: here, example.com.
04
The @ trick
Not official: https://travel-europe.europa.eu@example.com/apply
Everything before an @ in an address is a username, not the site. The browser opens the domain after it: here, example.com.
The real one
Official: https://travel-europe.europa.eu/etias
Today this page only gives information: there is nothing to apply for or pay yet.
“ETIAS is currently not in operation and no applications for travel authorisations are collected at this point.”
The official ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System) for European Union / Schengen is at https://travel-europe.europa.eu/etias. Official addresses end in travel-europe.europa.eu, europa.eu (or a subdomain of them). The official site says ETIAS is currently not in operation and is not collecting applications. Any site taking ETIAS applications or money today is not official.
How much does ETIAS cost?
Planned fee: €20. ETIAS is not running yet, so there is nothing to pay today. Checked on 23 Oct 2026 against travel-europe.europa.eu. Governments change fees, so confirm on the official site before paying.
How can I tell if a ETIAS site is official?
Look at the end of the address, right before the first single slash. For ETIAS it must be travel-europe.europa.eu, europa.eu or a subdomain of them, such as travel-europe.europa.eu. A name that only contains “ETIAS”, “gov” or “official”, or has travel-europe.europa.eu at the start followed by another domain, is not official. You can paste the link into the free checker on this page.
Is there an official ETIAS app?
None yet (an official app is planned for launch).
Can I apply for ETIAS today?
No. ETIAS is currently not in operation and no applications for travel authorisations are collected at this point. Any site taking ETIAS applications or money today is not official.
