NZ$17 in the official NZeTA app, or NZ$23 on the Immigration New Zealand website. Most NZeTA requests also include the NZ$100 International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL), making NZ$117 (app) or NZ$123 (web).
Note: Some travellers don't pay the IVL, for example transit passengers and holders of an Australian resident visa. Use the official fee tool on immigration.govt.nz to confirm what applies to you.
Governments change fees, so always confirm on the official site before paying.

Lookalike NZeTA addresses
Examples use the reserved .example names. They show patterns, not real sites, and each one is run through the checker above.
01
The scheme name plus extra words
Not official: nzeta-application-online.example
Anyone can register a name that contains “NZeTA”. Only addresses that end in immigration.govt.nz or govt.nz are official for NZeTA.
02
“gov” or “official” in the name
Not official: official-nzeta-gov.example
A word that sounds official is not a government ending. Read the end of the address, not the start.
03
The real address at the start
Not official: https://immigration.govt.nz.example.com/apply
Putting immigration.govt.nz in front of another domain doesn't make it official. The part right before the first single slash decides who owns the site: here, example.com.
04
The @ trick
Not official: https://immigration.govt.nz@example.com/apply
Everything before an @ in an address is a username, not the site. The browser opens the domain after it: here, example.com.
Paying much more than the official fee above, beyond official levies, payment fees and card conversion, usually means a third-party site added its own service fee. Search ads can sit above the official result, so check the address, not the position.
“You should use the official NZeTA website or mobile app to request your NZeTA.”
The official NZeTA (New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority) for New Zealand is at https://www.immigration.govt.nz/visas/new-zealand-electronic-travel-authority-nzeta/. Official addresses end in immigration.govt.nz, govt.nz (or a subdomain of them). Apply only through immigration.govt.nz or the official NZeTA app.
How much is the official NZeTA fee?
NZ$17 in the official NZeTA app, or NZ$23 on the Immigration New Zealand website. Most NZeTA requests also include the NZ$100 International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL), making NZ$117 (app) or NZ$123 (web). Some travellers don't pay the IVL, for example transit passengers and holders of an Australian resident visa. Use the official fee tool on immigration.govt.nz to confirm what applies to you. How can I tell if a NZeTA site is official?
Look at the end of the address, right before the first single slash. For NZeTA it must be immigration.govt.nz, govt.nz or a subdomain of them, such as immigration.govt.nz. A name that only contains “NZeTA”, “gov” or “official”, or has immigration.govt.nz at the start followed by another domain, is not official. You can paste the link into the free checker on this page.
Is there an official NZeTA app?
NZeTA app (Immigration New Zealand).
I paid a third-party site. How do I know my NZeTA exists?
Ask the government, not the site: Check your NZeTA status (https://nzeta.immigration.govt.nz/check-status). The official form works with or without your NZeTA reference number.
