Free for a 30-day tourist ETA for nationals of 40 countries from 25 May 2026 (among them the UK, the USA, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, India and China; full list on eta.gov.lk). For other nationalities a tourist ETA is US$50, or US$20 for South Asian countries (US$60 and US$25 on arrival). A business ETA is US$55, or US$30 for South Asian countries. Children under 12 get a free tourist ETA for up to 30 days.
Note: The fee depends on your nationality. Romania, for example, is not on the free list. Check the fees page on eta.gov.lk for your passport before paying. Sri Lanka lists “by third party” as an accepted way to submit, so an agent isn't automatically illegal, but anything above the official fee goes to the agent.

How to spot a copycat
Examples use the reserved .example names. They show patterns, not real sites, and each one is run through the checker above.
Not official: lk-eta-application-online.example
Anyone can register a name that contains “Sri Lanka ETA”. Only addresses that end in eta.gov.lk or immigration.gov.lk are official for Sri Lanka ETA.
Not official: official-lk-eta-gov.example
A word that sounds official is not a government ending. Read the end of the address, not the start.
Not official: https://eta.gov.lk.example.com/apply
Putting eta.gov.lk in front of another domain doesn't make it official. The part right before the first single slash decides who owns the site: here, example.com.
Not official: https://eta.gov.lk@example.com/apply
Everything before an @ in an address is a username, not the site. The browser opens the domain after it: here, example.com.
Official: https://www.eta.gov.lk/slvisa/
Paying much more than the official fee above, beyond official levies, payment fees and card conversion, usually means a third-party site added its own service fee. Search ads can sit above the official result, so check the address, not the position.
“The Department maintains a NO REFUND policy.”
Check with the government that your Sri Lanka ETA really exists, then decide on a refund or chargeback.

A name that only contains “Sri Lanka ETA”, “gov” or “official”, or has eta.gov.lk at the start followed by another domain, is not official. You can paste the link into the free checker on this page.
