Lookalike K-ETA addresses
Examples use the reserved .example names. They show patterns, not real sites, and each one is run through the checker above.
01
The scheme name plus extra words
Not official: k-eta-application-online.example
Anyone can register a name that contains “K-ETA”. Only addresses that end in k-eta.go.kr or go.kr are official for K-ETA.
02
“gov” or “official” in the name
Not official: official-k-eta-gov.example
A word that sounds official is not a government ending. Read the end of the address, not the start.
03
The real address at the start
Not official: https://k-eta.go.kr.example.com/apply
Putting k-eta.go.kr in front of another domain doesn't make it official. The part right before the first single slash decides who owns the site: here, example.com.
04
The @ trick
Not official: https://k-eta.go.kr@example.com/apply
Everything before an @ in an address is a username, not the site. The browser opens the domain after it: here, example.com.
The real one
Official: https://www.k-eta.go.kr/
Paying much more than the official fee above, beyond official levies, payment fees and card conversion, usually means a third-party site added its own service fee. Search ads can sit above the official result, so check the address, not the position.
“K-ETA application is available only at ‘www.k-eta.go.kr’ or the mobile app (K-ETA)… Please be careful of similar agencies/phishing sites that charge high fees.”
The official K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization) for South Korea is at https://www.k-eta.go.kr/. Official addresses end in k-eta.go.kr, go.kr (or a subdomain of them). Many nationalities are temporarily exempt from K-ETA until 31 Dec 2026. Check the official notice before paying anyone.
How much is the official K-ETA fee?
₩10,000 per person (about US$7–8), non-refundable. The official site says an online payment processing fee (generally about 3%) may be added by the payment provider. Checked on 23 Oct 2026 against k-eta.go.kr. Governments change fees, so confirm on the official site before paying.
How can I tell if a K-ETA site is official?
Look at the end of the address, right before the first single slash. For K-ETA it must be k-eta.go.kr, go.kr or a subdomain of them, such as k-eta.go.kr. A name that only contains “K-ETA”, “gov” or “official”, or has k-eta.go.kr at the start followed by another domain, is not official. You can paste the link into the free checker on this page.
Is there an official K-ETA app?
K-ETA app (Ministry of Justice).
I paid a third-party site. How do I know my K-ETA exists?
Ask the government, not the site: Check your K-ETA result on k-eta.go.kr (https://www.k-eta.go.kr/portal/newapply/viewapplyinfosearch.do). Use the application-result search on the official K-ETA site (or the official K-ETA app). If you applied before 14 March 2025, the site says to use Check Individual Applicant.
